About AE Superlab.

AE Superlab is a multi-disciplinary Architecture and Design office, operating at the intersection of art, architecture, engineering, and technology.

We are a Brooklyn, New York based Studio with international reach and experience.

We are a Design driven, Technology native studio, challenging conventional modes of design and production via an active focus on research and development, a nimble approach to emerging trends and technologies, and a robust network of collaborators, advisors, and industry specialists.

Our projects span a range of scales from AIA award winning private residences (C+S House) and commercial interiors (One Kings Lane HQ NYC) to award-winning medical sensing devices (Inspiren) and furniture design (Diwani Chair) to renewable energy infrastructure design (Totem Power) and urban scale kinetic sculptures (Halo NY).

Ahmed ElHusseiny is the Founder and Design Principal of AE Superlab.

Prior to founding AE Superlab, Ahmed was a Senior Designer and Senior Associate Principal at Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, where he was responsible for the design and development of a broad range of mixed use, commercial, retail, and residential projects throughout Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Key projects include Parc Du Millenaire Buildings 3 and 4 in Paris, Qiantan Center in Shanghai, Forum 66 Hang Lung Plaza in Shenyang, the H Residences in Cairo, as well as unbuilt proposals for the supertall Tower 111 in Dubai and LG headquarters in New Jersey.

Ahmed also worked at Matthew Baird Architects, focused on single family, high-end residential projects, and at DAR Group where he worked on numerous large mixed use and institutional projects.

Ahmed received his Masters Degree in Architecture from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) where his studies focused on the interplay of architecture, technology, and narrative storytelling.

Ahmed has received numerous awards and recognitions, including being named by Wallpaper* magazine among the “World's Best Young Architects”.

Ahmed teaches periodically, and is a frequent visiting critic at a number of universities including MIT, Cambridge University, Pratt Institute, Parsons, and NJIT.

In addition to architecture, Ahmed’s furniture designs, illustrations, photographs, and short films have been featured at festivals and galleries in New York, and internationally.
